Project Overview

The Task:

Given specifications to develop an online platform for customers to purchase indie and school game projects, conduct research and testing to come up with a paper-prototype. Record your research and feedbacks from user test sessions.

I went on to create my own digital wireframes of the few screens that we designed and made some improvements while I was at it. The digital prototype above is the end result.

Lessons Learnt

  • Paper prototyping can be a good low-fidelity method to rapidly prototype a product

    • However, accuracy is lost as the importance of units/measurements is of less concern

  • Learning how to write user goals which help steer the design of the product

  • Learning how to conduct more in-depth user testing and interviews

    • How to make participants feel at ease when they are called up for interviews after testing our paper-prototype at different phases

    • What questions should or should not be asked? And why?

      • Ask open-ended questions to understand more about user's thought process​

      • Ask a more specific question when trying to ask about a targeted issue
